German summer work

Overview

Welcome to German at Hills Road!

By the time you start your German lessons here in September, it will have been some time since you had formal lessons; your language skills might get a little rusty unless you keep them going.

The work

We are keen that you do not forget all the German you have learned and want to give you some tips on how to keep your language skills going and improve further. It will be enormously helpful to you and us if you do all the following suggestions over the next few months, to keep up your practice, and give you confidence when you start.

We look forward to meeting you in September.

Schöne Ferien!

  1. Complete the personal information sheet (downloads section below) and bring it to your first lesson
  2. Learn the 10 key verbs in the present tense for your first lesson (downloads section below).
  3. Revise your basic GCSE grammar, especially verb tenses. We have included links to a website in the Website Resources section below, which may be helpful.
  4. Watch a German film (with English subtitles) and write a short review of it in German.
