Getting Started at Hills Road

Your Getting Started guide

Congratulations on enrolling at Hills Road Sixth Form College! We're looking forward to welcoming you in September. To help you settle in, you will have a Getting Started day - this is the beginning of your Hills Road journey.

The Getting Started Day is all about meeting your Tutor, getting to know other students, exploring campus a bit more and getting everything in place before teaching begins.

We've shared everything you need to know about Getting Started on this page, so you can return to it whenever you need to.

Your journey to being part of Hills

The day has been designed to help you settle into college life and feel ready for Year 12. Below, find a step-by-step breakdown of what to do and what to expect!

You must keep both days free, and you'll receive an email confirming your Getting Started date on Wednesday 2 September, once we have timetabled everybody's lessons!

Your Getting Started day will run from 9.00am to approximately 3.15pm.

What to expect on your Getting Started day

You'll spend most of the Getting Started day with your Tutor Group. Together, you will...

...meet your Tutor

Your Tutor will support you throughout your time at Hills Road and will be one of your first points of contact whenever you need advice or guidance.

...get started with Digital Skills

You'll get set up with Hills Road's digital systems and learn how you'll use technology in your lessons. Please bring your digital device, fully charged. Not sure which device you'll need? Find guidance linked below.

...discover the EPQ

You'll be introduced to the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and discover how it can enrich your studies through independent research and exciting projects.

Unsure about anything?
