A team of 54 students delivered standout performances at Nottingham University during the weekend of 18 April, representing the East Region with success across multiple sports.
Over the weekend of 18th April, 54 Hills Road students travelled to Nottingham University to compete in the AoC National Finals to represent the East region. They joined around 3,000 students from across the country to compete in one of the largest student sporting events of the year. Our Hills Road competitors contributed to a highly competitive programme of fixtures, with several delivering podium finishes.
Morgan Gall secured a silver medal in women’s tennis following a series of strong performances, while the women's volleyball team progressed to the final to claim silver after an intense weekend of competition. In cross country, Kalle Van Paridon's performance helped the East Region team secure another silver medal.
Across the wider programme, students produced a number of notable results. The cricket team finished 6th overall after two days of competitive fixtures, while both badminton and men’s volleyball placed 5th, with the volleyball team also earning a nomination for the overall Sportsmanship Award.
The mixed hockey team recovered from a challenging opening day to record two wins on Sunday, and strong individual performances were also seen in men's tennis and in table tennis.
The entire College community is very proud of our representatives for demonstrating such impressive performances and positive sportsmanship across the weekend.
