Making a Post-results application

If you are thinking about applying to Hills Road after receiving your GCSE results, this guide explains how the post-results application process works.

Applications can be submitted from 20 to 21 August 2026, via Applicaa. Links to the Applicaa platform will be made available on 20 August.

Important information about Post-results applications

The post-results application process is a very fast turnaround. We are only able to offer places in subjects where spaces remain after enrolment.

  • Places are offered based on availability in individual subjects
  • Not all subjects will have places available
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee that a place will be offered

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from students who meet the following criteria:

  • There are spaces available in your chosen subjects

Please remember that availability changes every year, and places cannot be guaranteed.

1. Returning applicants

If you applied to Hills Road earlier in the year but did not receive an offer in March:

  • Your existing application in Applicaa will be reactivated on GCSE results day, 20 August 2026
  • You will be able to resubmit your  application through Applicaa
  • You must upload your GCSE achieved grades and a photograph for your student lanyard

We will email you before the post-results application window opens with instructions explaining how to do this.

2. New applicants

If you did not apply to Hills Road earlier this year, you will need to submit your application on Thursday, 20 August.

You will need to:

  1. Create an account in our application system, Applicaa
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Upload evidence of your GCSE results and a photograph for your student lanyard
  4. Your application will not be complete until all required information has been uploaded.

What happens after you apply?

Once the post-results application window closes, we will review all applications alongside the subjects where places remain available.

If we are able to offer you a place, we will contact you on either Thursday, 27 August or Friday, 28 August 2026.

We will call you to explain:

  • Which subjects we can offer you
  • Your next steps for enrolment

I chose to come to Hills because I enjoyed the idea of a sixth form college experience that was more transitional to university.

Rebecca

Hills Road attracted me because it had lots of opportunities to grow in lessons and also with all the extracurricular activities. I was especially drawn to the variety of enrichment options available, which played a major role in my decision to choose the College.

Bethany

Hills provides such a relaxed and welcoming environment where you are treated like an adult. All the staff are so experienced and knowledgeable, supporting you every step of the way and they have our best interests at heart.

Visiting the College

Due to the short timeframe between enrolment and the start of term, we are not able to arrange meetings or individual tours during the post-results process.

However, if you are considering making a post-results application, we strongly recommend attending one of our Open Events earlier in the summer.

Open Event dates

  • Saturday 4 July 10 am - 4 pm
  • Monday 6 July 5 pm - 8 pm

These events are a great opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the subjects you are interested in
  • Speak to teachers and current students
  • Experience what it is like to study at Hills Road

You can register your interest using the link below, and we will notify you when tickets become available.
