Welcome to Hills

Welcome to Hills Day

There is no better way to start your learning journey with the College than to attend Welcome to Hills. Students attend for one day on either 30 June or 1 July.

For one day, you will take part in three A level taster lessons and a Future Ready session, meet teachers, tutors and support staff, and explore the campus. You will also meet other students who are joining the College in September.

About the day

Students who are holding an offer with the College will have received emails about their Welcome Day.

Your day will include:

  • 3 x subject taster sessions - these are your offered subjects
  • A morning break
  • 1 x Future Ready session with a tutor
  • A 50-minute lunch break at either 12 pm or 12.50 pm. Due to timetabling constraints, unfortunately you cannot choose the time of your lunch break.

Pre-order your Welcome to Hills lunch

The Café and The Hub will be open throughout Welcome to Hills, giving you the chance to grab lunch, meet other students, and experience two of the College’s most popular social spaces. From freshly made pizzas to hot halloumi wraps, there’s something for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Pre-ordering your food before the event means you can:

  • Skip the queues at lunch and break
  • Collect your food quickly
  • Choose your preferred meal in advance

You're also welcome to bring a packed lunch if you would prefer. Food pre-orders close a week before your allocated Welcome to Hills date.

Please note that once you have arrived and been registered for your first session, you will need to remain on site until the end of the day. This means you will not be able to leave campus to buy lunch elsewhere, so we recommend pre-ordering or bringing a packed lunch.
