This course is designed for students who have no previous knowledge of French.
The course is based on a communicative approach and aims to develop the skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing in the foreign language. It aims to enable students to understand and use French effectively for purposes of practical communication, to develop some understanding of grammar and to offer insights into the culture of French speaking countries.

This course feeds into Beginners level 2 in the next term and level 3 the following term.
Elise Desailly is a native French speaker from Arras, in Northern France. She has a BA in English Civilization and Literature, and has a degree to teach English in France. Elise loves the English language and culture, and moved here in 2016 to be a French Assistant and share her passion for languages with children and adults.
