The German Lower Improvers course is suitable for students who have already studied German for one year or who have completed approximately 60 hours of tuition.

German Lower Improvers

The German Pre-Lower Improvers course is suitable for students who have already studied German for one year or who have completed approximately 60 hours of tuition.  It is a course for one term and feeds into German Lower Improvers in the spring term 2026.

The German Upper Improvers course is suitable for students who have already studied German for approximately two years.

German Upper Improvers

History - England in the Middle Ages course is a year-long course on the history of England from the 5th to the 15th Century.  Lessons will be taught in college, but students can also access them online if they prefer.  The course is designed for students who wish to learn about the history of this country in a structured, rigorous fashion. If you enjoy reading historical fiction and visiting castles and cathedrals, then this is the course for you!

The Illustration course is ideal for anyone interested in developing their creativity and drawing skills. We cover many aspects of illustration, such as character design and picture books. If students have some basic drawing and painting experience, that’s great, but it’s not essential!

The Illustration Next Step Evening Course is designed for those who have completed the Illustration course at Hills Road or have prior experience in illustration and/or drawing. This short course offers a focused opportunity to refine your techniques and explore the next steps in your creative journey, from developing a personal style to navigating client work and commissions.
