This is an introductory course. Each unit covers the basic language for everyday situations, as well as developing language skills. It provides a step-by-step approach for complete beginners.
Each two hour class will be planned to revise and build on language taught in the preceding class(es). Throughout the course the emphasis will be on speaking, listening and learning how to form the Arabic script. Students will be encouraged to practise between lessons.
This course feeds into Beginners Level 2 in the next term and Beginners Level 3 in the term following.

Khawla Stockton is a native Arabic speaker who was born in Nablus, Palestine. She has lived in the UK since 1995 and has recently completed an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL Teaching at Anglia Ruskin University. She has taught Arabic in Nablus for The French Cultural Centre, in Ramallah for the British Council and in London for Linguarama. She also has experience of teaching English as a foreign language. Her passion is researching new ways of learning and teaching and aims to make her Arabic classes useful, interactive and fun.
