This course continues to build up necessary grammar skills that will enable students to understand, read, write and translate sentences and paragraphs. It also aims to improve oral communication skills to satisfy everyday needs. Grammar points include adverbs, numbers (11-100), counting and plural patterns, past, present and future forms of verbs. Students will learn to correctly use present and past tenses along with more complex vocabulary and grammar.
The course book is "Mastering Arabic", ISBN 978-1-137-38045-6. This was published in November 2014 and is a box set, containing two CDs. The course focuses on chapters 7 to 11.
Shazan Iqbal completed a BA (Hons) Arabic Studies at The University of Manchester, graduating with a First and a Distinction in Spoken Arabic. He spent 1 year in Egypt at The Arab Academy. Following his Degree he obtained a scholarship with the Anglo-Omani Society to study higher level Arabic for two months at Sultan Qaboos College in Oman. Upon completing this scholarship he travelled to Qatar to teach Arabic & Islamic Studies at The Phoenix English school.
In 2016 Shazan obtained a distinction in MA Islamic Studies at SOAS (University of London). He has taught various levels of Arabic for 6 years. He has also completed a CELTA qualification.
