The Illustration course is ideal for anyone interested in developing their creativity and drawing skills. We cover many aspects of illustration, such as character design and picture books. If students have some basic drawing and painting experience, that’s great, but it’s not essential!

The Illustration Next Step Evening Course is designed for those who have completed the Illustration course at Hills Road or have prior experience in illustration and/or drawing. This short course offers a focused opportunity to refine your techniques and explore the next steps in your creative journey, from developing a personal style to navigating client work and commissions.

This course is for people of all ability levels who are curious about improvisation through movement and want to develop their improvisation skills. You do not have to be a dancer or have any previous experience of dance or movement practices.

strike february 2025 teachers The NEU has today confirmed that it is suspending the industrial action planned for later this week. This action was in response to the pay disparity across the 16-19 sector, that saw government funding provided for 16-19 schools & academies, but not for non-academised Sixth Form Colleges such as Hills Road.

After discussions last week, the NEU will now ballot its members to assess support for any further industrial action. Strikes have been suspended whilst this ballot take place.

This means further industrial action cannot be ruled out, although we very much hope it can be avoided.

In the meantime, the College is grateful to all those who engaged with the campaign over the pay disparity in the sector, by writing to their MP. The important principle of equal pay funding for all 16-19 providers, regardless of the designation, has been established for next year.
