Hills Road joins Cambridge Living Lab network

Hills Road Sixth Form College is supporting the expansion of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Living Lab, a collaborative network driving sustainable innovation across the built environment.

The Living Lab brings together organisations across Cambridge to test and scale new solutions in real-world settings. As part of the initiative, Hills Road is working with startup Decent Energy to trial software that identifies energy-saving opportunities and improves the use of renewable energy across its campus.

The College is also involved in a regional project funded by the Water Efficiency Cambridgeshire Fund, piloting water-saving technologies alongside partners including NHS Estates and Churchill College.

Through its involvement, Hills Road is contributing to a growing network of organisations using Cambridge as a test bed for practical, scalable sustainability solutions.

The Living Lab has connected us with organisations and expertise that we would not otherwise have accessed, helping us identify new opportunities to improve building performance and reduce energy use.
