Italian Beginners Level 2

Italian Beginners Level 2

The Italian beginners 2 course is a continuation of the Italian 1 course from the previous term.

The course aims to develop the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as cultural awareness. It provides a good balance between understanding the culture, vocabulary and grammar structures of the Italian language and enhancing communication and interaction in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You will be encouraged to seek opportunities to learn and practise the language outside the classroom taking advantage of online learning resources suggested by the tutor. Only one term’s knowledge of Italian is required. The course will be based on communicative methods and active participation from all students will be strongly encouraged. There will be regular homework to consolidate what has been learnt in class.

The emphasis will be on everyday situations, which will be useful to students who intend to travel to Italy.

At the end of the course you will be given a checklist (I can....) with a systematic review of all structures learned for a self evaluation of the progress made.

The course book will be 'Nuovo Espresso 1: chapters 4-6.
