Painting for Beginners

The Painting for Beginners course will teach you how to paint from the ground up. You will explore a variety of painting techniques to embark on your own painting projects!

Enrol now for the available days

About the course

In this Painting for Beginners course, you will learn how to use acrylic paints to model form and volume in a convincing way. You will learn by exploring examples of how to bring your paintings to life and gain the technical skills to embark on your own painting projects.

We will be working from still-life objects and from resource images to give you a range of painting experiences and to refine your observation capabilities. Every class has an element of theory which we will explore by looking at art-historical examples and doing small sketches that familiarise you with the technique, before moving on to a longer study where you can put this information to the test in a less structured setting.

Although this course is aimed at beginners, it may also suit more experienced painters who would like to learn a different approach to painting techniques.
