Hills Road's Got Talent 2023

Lights, camera... Action! Hills Road has once again been transported to a world of glitz and glamour after our students and staff have worked diligently to create another fantastic event – Hills Road’s Got Talent!

HRGT 2023

Lights, camera... Action!

Each year, students are given the opportunity to perform their special skills on stage for all to behold. Whether this is singing, piano playing or yodelling everyone is invited to have fun and put on a show.

This year was no exception to any other, with each performer showing a massive amount of talent and entertaining all of those who turned up to watch this exciting show. Hills Road’s Got Talent was certainly a perfect way to end the summer term and a fantastic academic year!

Congratulations to our Hills Road’s Got Talent winners! Lola MacDonald (third place), Kate Murdoch and Toby Heath (second place), and Jamie Roach (first place), your performances were absolutely amazing.

However, it wasn’t just the winners that impressed, as everyone who performed was a star! We also mustn’t forget to thank all the students and staff who helped behind the scenes to make this event possible – thank you!

We were treated to some stunning staff and student acts and, as the judging panel, we were hard pressed to pick just three winners. But pick we did, and the talented trio were: in third place, Lola Macdonald for her gorgeous vocal number; in second place Ebony and Ivory, otherwise known as our very own Kate Murdoch and Toby Heath for their incredible Rachmaninov piano duet and in first place was the uber-talented Jamie Roach, star of Made in Dagenham, for his beautiful rendition of Stars from Les Misérables. I’m a sucker for a west end musical

Also congratulations to Tim Hallas for his incredible original song ‘Halo’, and to the brilliant a capella group of Renata, Matthew, Yasmin, Dave S and Katie B for their wonderful mash up of Disney courtesy of Renata’s hugely technical close harmony arrangement: amazing! And not to forget, jetting in all the way from New York, was Hills Road’s answer to Robbie Williams who (it turns out) is ‘Back for Good’. Welcome back Rob Whittaker – we’ve missed you!
