Creating a website is one of the best things you can do to help your business or organisation stand out. This course covers WordPress.org - an excellent solution giving you flexibility as your venture develops. WordPress powers 33% of the web so the skills you learn will be transferable.
On this course you will learn how to set up hosting for your site, how to install WordPress.org and how to choose plugins and choose layout options. We will consider your customers and your business goals - learning how to customise the look of your site and add content to it in a way that helps you get your message across clearly.
This is a beginner-level course – you do not need to know any code, nor do you need to have worked with WordPress.org before.
Please bring a laptop, or use the computers in the classroom. In order to do the homework between sessions you will need computer access in between classes – either at home or at a library.
You will need to pay for your own domain name and hosting – between £30 and £50 per year – in addition to the course fees. Please bring a credit or debit card with you to the first session so that we can set this up. We will suggest a variety of providers for you to choose from.
