The Writing Poetry in Response to Art one-day workshop is for beginner to more advanced poets who have an interest in art.
In this one-day poetry workshop, you will create poetry in response to paintings, sculptures or any other visual image you find inspiration in.
Have you ever looked at a painting or sculpture and felt so inspired that you wanted to respond to it in your own creative way? On the course you will explore the field of Ekphrastic Poetry and read a wide selection of poems that respond to visual art in different ways and forms.
The workshop will consist of playful writing exercises and provide a supportive and encouraging environment for constructive feedback. You will read poems by established poets and explore different ways of evoking colours, textures, shadow and light through poetry writing.
