The Introduction to Greek Myths course is designed for anyone interested in Greek mythology. No prior knowledge is assumed, nor any understanding of Ancient Greek or Latin.
The Introduction to Greek Myths course explores the rich world of Greek mythology and examines how ancient European cultures continue to resonate today. The course will demonstrate how accessible and relatable Greek myths are to us today. The course will also show that the subject area is neither high-brow nor elitist.
Students on the Introduction to Greek Myths course will discover how interconnected Greek mythology is; one character and story soon collides with another, and then another, and in this way students build up an increasingly comprehensive understanding of the subject area. The course also draws on rich literary and visual content, showing how Greek myths have been interpreted by writers and artists.
