About the course
Throughout the Dressmaking Summer School, you will get to know your sewing machine and gain confidence to be able to choose a pattern to follow and make your own items.
Over the 5-day Summer School, you will learn a variety of different skills and techniques, including:
- An Introduction to the sewing machine
- Understanding dressmaking terminology
- How to work from a commercial sewing pattern
- How to take correct measurements
- A plethora of garment construction techniques
Depending on a student's pace, one or more basic garments may be produced throughout this 8-week course.

Payment
Payment is made in full at the time of booking.
If you are booking a Level 3 or 4 Counselling course, you will be able to pay for this using a Direct Debit, which you will set up before the course starts in September. Please check the relevant course pages for details.
