In 2023, while Sambor was in Year 13, he progressed onto the Grand Final of a prestigious public speaking competition held at the National Gallery. Sambor chose to speak about The Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland, which is a building he fell in love with as a child.

Originally from Poland, Sambor was excited to deliver his speech at the Articulation competition, which is an acclaimed initiative for young people designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of visual culture.

Artist, educator, and adjudicator of the competition, Harold Offeh, offered his congratulations to Sambor on what he called a fantastic delivery with rich use of context and humour.

‘I was really shocked when I won the final because some of the other presentations were amazing, but I definitely had a lot of fun and tried not to stress too much!’

The Grand Prize Final took place at the National Gallery on 28 March, and despite being ‘slightly terrified’ by the spectacle of the event, Sambor performed superbly and came second overall. After a good night’s sleep, Sambor said that the event had been a fantastic experience and one he enjoyed greatly.
