Finding the right path for you

Choosing where to study after GCSEs is an important step — it’s about discovering what’s best for you and your goals.

At Hills Road, you can choose from 36 A level subjects that keep your options open. Whether you’re planning to go to university, start an apprenticeship, begin work or are still exploring your options, A levels will give you the knowledge, confidence and skills to take your next step.

Deciding where to apply

When you’re exploring different sixth forms, it’s important to make sure they offer the subjects you want to study. But there’s so much more to think about! Look for a place where you’ll feel inspired, supported, and excited to learn — somewhere that feels like the right fit for you.

Choosing your subjects

Picking your subjects is an important step. You might already have an idea of what you want to do — but if you’re still deciding, don’t worry! We’ve included some useful tips below to help you explore your options.

When you apply, you can list up to five subjects. This helps keep your choices open, and we’ll guide you through refining your selection as part of your application journey with us.

Four key tips to help you decide:

1. List the GCSE subjects you enjoy and highlight the ones you are good at

2. Look at the subject pages on our website to find out more.

3. Speak to your teachers, career advisors, family and other students who might be taking the subjects you are interested in.

4. Check the entry requirements for your five chosen subjects to make sure you qualify.
