You are able to enrol from November for courses starting in the spring term, March for courses starting in the summer term and July for courses starting in the autumn term.

To optimise your learning experience at Hills Road we offer a variety of progression routes specifically in Language and Art & Design courses. We are happy to assist you when you are making your choice, please contact the Adult Education team for more information, telephone 01223 278002.

Courses are closed at the discretion of the College. Some courses are, unfortunately, closed due to a lack of viable student enrolments or to unforeseen circumstances. Occasionally, the start of courses may be delayed by one week to enable further enrolments. However, if courses fail to achieve viable numbers, students will be informed as soon as possible, given guidance with regards to other courses available and/or refunded the full tuition fee.

We advise you to enrol prior to the course starting; however, provided that the course isn’t already full, you can apply up to a couple of weeks after the start of the course. You may be able to attend at the discretion of the College after this but you will need to contact the Adult Education team on 01223 278002 or email: AdultEd@hillsroad.ac.uk to confirm.

Payments for long courses (over 12 weeks in duration) can be divided into two instalments, for example, GCSEs and A level. Counselling courses can be paid in three instalments if starting in the autumn term and two instalments if starting in the spring term. Please contact the Adult Education team on 01223 278002 if you would like to discuss this.

You can contact us by telephoning 01223 278002 or emailing AdultEd@hillsroad.ac.uk to discuss this. Alternatively, when you complete our enrolment form, we ask you to provide details of the organisation that will be paying for the course. We then invoice the relevant organisation.

We try to give you as much notice as possible and will always let you know before your course is due to start if it has been cancelled. Where enrolment numbers are low we wait for as long as possible in order to allow sufficient enrolments for us to run the course. Unfortunately, this can mean we are unable to guarantee that the course is running until the week before the course is due to start.

If you supplied us with your email address, you should have received a confirmation email immediately following your enrolment. If you have not received this, please contact the Adult Education team on 01223 278002 or AdultEd@hillsroad.ac.uk. Should the course be cancelled, we will contact you to offer an alternative or a full refund.

Information about materials required for your course is available either on our website - www.hillsroadadulteducation.co.uk (select the course name), outside the Adult Education office or by contacting the Adult Education team on 01223 278002 or AdultEd@hillsroad.ac.uk.

Before enrolment, the Adult Education team and the subject coordinators are available to give you guidance about our courses. You can talk to the subject coordinator during our enrolment evenings.
Class sizes vary quite considerably from one course to another and are affected by the space available, whether it is a course that requires a lot of moving around and historical precedent. Generally we aim to limit the numbers of students to between 16 and 20 but on occasion we will increase this maximum, provided that the tutor is happy.

We will ask you to talk to the tutor or subject co-ordinator to see whether some changes to the course structure would be beneficial to you. However, if this is still not satisfactory, we will try to find an alternative course for you. If this is not available, we will offer you a voucher which you can redeem the following term.

Yes you can be transferred to another level as long as the class below or above your level is not full.
Refunds will be paid in full when a class is closed at the discretion of the College, or if you cancel your enrolment at least two weeks before the course starts. If you decide to cancel less than two weeks before the course starts you will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund if a course has already started. However, you may be able to transfer to another class or we may offer you a credit which you can redeem against a future course (within 12 months).
