
The Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling is a two-year course and provides the final stage of working towards achieving counsellor practitioner status. The programme will enable successful learners to counsel individual clients within supervised, structured settings. Learners will also make substantial progress towards eligibility for individual counsellor accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and other Lead Bodies.

The course will be delivered face-to-face on the College campus.
The course has seven mandatory units, which must be completed within the lifetime of the course. The total course provides 310 Guided Learning Hours.
Learners will examine psychodynamic theory in more depth and make comparisons with other theoretical modalities. This module also offers learners the chance to acquire a more confident understanding of the opportunities and challenges of working therapeutically with clients within this model and in placement.
50 Guided Learning Hours
Learners need to be aged 21 or over at the start of the course and possess a recognised foundation course in Counselling Skills and Theory and a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling, accounting for approximately 200 Guided Learning Hours.
