About the course

The Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory course is also relevant to those wanting or required to use counselling skills in their work role and provides the necessary professional knowledge; understanding; and practical application; and is of particular use to those working or volunteering in a people-orientated context.

It is also suitable for students wanting to gain interpersonal skills for everyday life. It provides an opportunity to reflect upon the personal meaning of the course content and experience in relation to helping and communicating with others.

The course consists of two mandatory units:

The work undertaken during this course provides an opportunity to acquire and practise a range of counselling skills and explore their use within an ethical and theoretical framework.
