The Japanese Upper Improvers course is suitable for students who have already studied Japanese for approximately two years. The course is suitable for students who can read and write Hiragana and Katakana confidently and who know about 80 Kanji.

The Japanese Upper Improvers course revises and builds on previous learning. There is a focus on formal grammar, as well as support in developing all four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will improve their confidence in communication in practical situations.
The Japanese Upper Improvers course will develop students' confidence and ability to express opinions and communicate effectively in authentic situations, ranging from formal occasions to everyday interactions. Students will extend their working vocabulary and will gain a greater understanding of Japanese culture and traditions.
