Students raise money and awareness for Social Action Week causes

Every year our students exceed expectations with their herculean efforts to raise money for charity during Social Action Week, and this year they truly did themselves proud.

Social Action Week 2022

Coming up with the most creative, ambitious, and exciting ways of generating awareness we have seen yet, Year 12s found new and powerful ways of engaging with their communities to encourage donations that make a real difference to so many in need. The final total has been counted, and our students have raised an incredible £38891.51 for local and international causes!

Social Action Week is an annual event where Year 12s raise as much money as possible for charities of their choosing, and this year it is clear that students gave more than just their time to this fantastic event. Showing new levels of dedication, Gilbert Dicks, whose group raised £702 for Women’s Aid, shaved off his beautiful blue mullet on Instagram Live, while Erica Walton put her taste buds to the test with a hot sauce challenge raising £290 for Food for Families. A number of our Year 12s swam, danced, walked, ran and biked for charity, but all of our students went the distance this year spreading their messages of hope and unity while making a huge contribution to causes close to their hearts.

Totals skyrocketed throughout the week and culminated with Walking for Water being crowned the team to raise the most money with an enormous £1109 donation to Water Aid.

Congratulations to all of our Year 12 students, you have worked so hard and we could not be more proud of your achievements! Well done and thank you!
