Design & Build a Website using WordPress-Beginners

About 35% of websites use WordPress. It works, is low cost, and appropriate for small business, charity, and voluntary groups' websites.  With a little knowledge, your brochure website is fairly simple to build, maintain and modify. With more knowledge, WordPress supports multi-language, e-commerce sites selling products or digital downloads and more.  WordPress is open-source, so relatively low cost. What’s more, there is a wealth of "how-to" information on the web, once you know the appropriate search terms.  In this course, you'll build your basic brochure website. You'll make faster progress if you spend time between lessons writing content and finding/creating images for your website. Then you can focus on the technical issues during classes. No prior website building or coding experience is required. However, you should be comfortable using a PC and web browser.  Ideally you will bring your laptop.   Please bring a debit or credit card to the first lesson, so you can purchase your domain name and one year's WordPress hosting, probably for under £40.  We will suggest different providers.
