    About the course

The Japanese Beginners Level 1 course, based at our Cambridge campus, focuses on a communicative approach and aims to develop the skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing in a foreign language. The programme aims to enable students to understand and use Japanese effectively for purposes of practical communication.

This course feeds into Beginners Level 2 in the next term.

Japanese Beginners Level 1 introduces students to Japanese language and culture in a fun and effective way. Each session will include a range of learning activities, including work in pairs and groups so that students practise new vocabulary and linguistic structures in a lively and varied way. The main emphasis of the course is to develop students' confidence in communicating effectively in Japanese. Students will also be introduced to one of the Japanese scripts.
