The Careers Department has just come to the end of their annual Careers Week. This is a series of 42 online talks on a full spectrum of career areas, delivered by universities, employers and apprenticeship providers.

We are hugely grateful to our speakers, many of whom are ex-Hills Road students or parents of current students.

Talks have included ‘Applying to Competitive Universities’, ‘Apprenticeships at Channel 4’, ‘Studying Physics at University’, ‘Green Jobs – what they are and how to find one’ and many more. All talks have been recorded and will be shared with students so that they can catch up on any talks they have missed.

Head of Careers, Bekki Clark said: ‘Students have engaged really well in the talks this week, by asking lots of questions! We are so grateful to our many speakers from such a wide range of sectors who have given their time to speak to our students.’

The talk on Veterinary Careers was really interesting as they talked about the different branches of veterinary medicine and the qualities needed to be a vet. They also gave some really good insights about the perceptions of what it’s really like to be a vet.

Year 12 Student

I enjoyed the talk on Choosing a University. There was lots of helpful information and it was very general, not just focussed on one university.

Year 12 Student

The talk on Studying in London was useful as it went into the different universities and the differences of studying in London compared to other parts of the country
