Because it is an exciting and dynamic exploration of the three art forms of music, dance and drama. It is a multi-disciplinary course, developing qualities of imagination, sensitivity and artistic knowledge and understanding. It is essential for those who wish to go on to specialist training and ideal for those with performance flair who wish to broaden their curriculum.
GCSE grade B in English Language or Literature or Drama or Dance or Expressive Arts. Students will be assessed practically in two of the performing art forms and so a good level of experience in at least one of these is essential for success on this course.
• Studying the work of choreographers, composers and playwrights. • Studying significant styles and genres and the social, cultural and historical contexts in which the performing arts operate. • Developing your practical performance skills in the discrete art forms of dance, drama and music and the ability to make links across the art forms. • Developing approaches to devising performance material for a given time, situation and audience.

“I particularly enjoyed the practical side of the course, and even when studying for the theoretical exam we explored works practically and applied the techniques and theory to performance to make it easily understood and fun. There is a great team of both teachers and technical staff who were always around to help with practical pieces and made devising so much fun.
