Sports & Tennis Centre: Frequently asked questions
How many hours notice do I need when cancelling a booking?
You need to give 48 hours notice to avoid incurring the booking fee.
Do you have to be a member to use the Sports and Tennis Centre?
The Centre is open to everyone, members and non-members alike. Members are entitled to approx. 25% off the non-member rates and can also book facilities 7 days in advance. Non-members are able to book a clear 3 days in advance.
Is there parking at the Centre and is there a charge?
You can park free of charge at the Centre. If the sports centre car park is full you are able to park in the college car park opposite the centre (a code for this car park can be obtained from the sports centre reception).
Do I have to book an induction if I have previously used other gyms?
All new members have to book an induction for the safe use of equipment regardless of their previous experience. This way we can ensure everyone knows the safest way to exercise.
What should I do if I have a medical condition that may affect my exercise?
Before using our gym you would be asked to complete a medical questionnaire. If you tick ‘yes’ in any of the boxes we may ask you to provide a doctors note confirming you are able to complete the level of exercise required. If you have any doubts please contact your doctor prior to your visit. The Centre also operates a GP Referral Scheme in conjunction with the City Council's ExSite programme.
