How to apply
All students apply on a Cambridge Area 14-19 Partnership (CAP) application form (or its online equivalent for participating schools)
which should reach the College by 31st January 2014.
Details of our application procedure and admissions policy are on pages 108-110 of our Prospectus 2014. If you have any further questions
about this, please contact the Admissions Officer (01223 278038) at the College.
Hills Road is a sixth form college whose principal role is to provide high quality education for local 16-19 year olds.
Our admissions policy states that the great majority of places will be offered to ‘in-area’ applicants, to whom priority will be given.
‘In-area’ applicants are defined to be those who, during the academic year prior to admissions, are:
• attending a CAP (Cambridge Area Partnership) institution, or
• living with their parent(s) in the local Authority defined area served by the CAP institutions.
We are also pleased to encourage applications from ‘out-area’ applicants as each year we are able to make a fair number of offers to these students,
particularly in order to maintain a broad curriculum and to utilise our resources. All applicants are encouraged to apply to more than one centre to
keep their options open. The same application form can be photocopied, along with supporting documents, and sent to each centre. ‘Out-area’ students must
make provision in their own area too. The College will decide whether or not individual out-area applicants will be invited to interview in the light of
the pattern of applications received.
Further information for out-area applicants is available via the following link, including how to check whether you are ‘in-area’ or ‘out-area’:
