Hills Road Bake Off 2016

The Hills Road Bake Off was organised by the Student Council, with the Principal, Linda Sinclair, invited to be one of the celebrity guest judges. Other guest judges were Ian Cumming, a finalist from the last series of the BBC’s Great British Bake Off, Debs Whiteley Chief Executive of Tom’s Trust and Tine Roche from the Cambridge Cookery School.

The first round took place on Tuesday 12th July with the final taking place on Friday 15th July in the quad. Funds raised at both events went to local charity, Tom’s Trust.

Teams of students competed against each other, with the first round focusing on icing skills, and the second round focused on constructing a famous monument using cake and biscuits. One team made the Taj Mahal, another team made the sinking of the Titanic ship and the winning team replicated their version of Big Ben!
